The idea
- This course aimed to address all theoretical content objectives through technological innovations and their impact on the business world and legal practice.
- The Commercial Law course was offered for law and non-law students. Having an audience from different areas of knowledge has been a constant challenge. Thus, I have had students from literature, philosophy, economics and other departments, which made me adapt the legal and technical language for a simple and easy language to convey my ideas and make my students feel comfortable participating in class.
- Throughout the semester, students were divided into groups.
- Each group represented a company from some sector of the Colombian economy.
- Depending on the topic to be addressed in the session, each group had to appropriate their role as a company and perform certain actions (lawsuit, defense, appeal, among others). The main activities that each group had to carry out were:

SMART
The development of the academic program aims to impart the fundamental bases of commercial law, as well as to motivate students to have a vision of law that is complementary to other areas of knowledge such as design, engineering and entrepreneurship. In this way, the course intends that the student revolves around the following map of knowledge:
To know
- Identify the field of action of commercial law within the Colombian legal system, its characteristics, the scope of application and duties and rights of consumers and companies.
- Recognize the relationship between commercial law and other areas of law, as well as with other jurisdictions.
- Analyze and analyze the contemporary legal services industry, focusing on the creation of innovative models.
- Examine the major national and international regulation aspects of emerging technologies' effect and research risks and benefits of digital platforms.
To do
- Identify the relevant institutions of the Colombian legal system for the application of commercial law. In this way, the student will be able to approach a daily situation from different fronts prior to the judicial process.
