Fundamentals of Law for non-lawyers

The course is given to non-law students. It is a mandatory class for all faculties except for law.
Having an audience coming from diverse areas of knowledge has been a constant challenge. Thus, I have had students from literature, philosophy, economics and other careers which made me adapt the legal and technical language for a simple and simple language to convey my ideas and that my students feel comfortable participating in class.
The course was designed based on a series of simulations.
The simulations consist of choosing a company and performing some tasks connected with the company and the world of law.

The process

Simulation	Description
1: Regulatory framework	Each company should make an infographic, presentation, diagram, writing or any other means they consider necessary to describe the following characteristics of their company:

Idea of a company.
What competitors do they have in the market?
From the classification system what kind of company is it? | | 2: Create the legal entity | Each group should research how to create the company in Colombia and what are the main elements of corporate law from a business perspective. | | 3: Contracts | Each company have to make the corresponding contracts according to the industry. Each contract should be no more than 2 pages long. Take into account the essential elements of the contract (Review bibliography and Colombian sources). | | 4: Labor law | Each company needs to address the given situations related with labor law. | | 5: Intellectual property | Each company have to create their brand, registration of it and a slogan according to Colombian law. | | 6: Consumer law | Each company need to improve their Terms & Conditions. |

Identify the conceptual bases that integrate the legal framework of business activity.
Recognize the relationship between commercial law and other areas of law.
Encourage the rational use of legal institutions by future entrepreneurs so that they do not infringe the legality of the market.
