💡 Notion Tip: In this space a reflection is made on the way in which a session and a complete course are designed and planned. First, the constant criteria that are present in all sessions are established. Then, the types of resources that each course has and its learning objective are analyzed. Finally, the forms of evaluation of this learning are pointed out in a general way.

Pedagogy aspects for planning a class
The most important aspects, from my vision and philosophy, when designing and planning a class are:
- Audience: I try to adapt my language depending on my audience. Usually, I have law students, but this aspect becomes a challenge when I have students or professionals from other areas of knowledge.
- Subject matter: I try to keep the topics up to date, I look for real and practical examples of daily life and the current social and cultural context of the country or region.
- Involve technology: I try to involve technology in all the sessions to show the imperative need to not only accept that it is present in the daily life of our profession, but also to show its potential in legal education.
Educational resources
In all the LLB and LLM courses I select a series of resources for each moment of the session. Some of them are for autonomous moments, some of them for group assignments and other for further research. The following table states the main resources I use in my teaching practice and how do they contribute to the achievement of the learning outcomes:
Type of resource |
Example and considerations |
Learning outcomes |
Readings |
It is important for future lawyers, as well as for others in the field of knowledge, to familiarize themselves with the main literature related to each topic. |
Legal Research |
Law School students are expected to achieve: |
|
|
- Face learning challenges autonomously.
- Seek and obtain relevant and sufficient information for its systematization and analysis for purposes of description, criticism and application. Likewise, to contribute to the creation of new knowledge. |
| Case law | Studying based on case law helps law students to develop a deeper understanding of the legal system and the underlying principles that shape it. This can help them to better understand how the law works in practice and to critically analyze legal issues. For example, we use relevant case law for law courses, but for the classes with entrepreneurs we use real cases such as the decisions in the UBER or RAPPI cases. In addition, for the law & tech sessions we use the reading of real cases involving law and technology such as the COMPAS case, among others. | Enhances critical thinking skills Jurisprudence involves critical analysis and interpretation of legal texts, as well as the ability to evaluate legal arguments and principles. By reading jurisprudence, law students can develop their critical thinking skills, which are essential for success in the legal profession. |
| Videos/ Podcast | Audiovisual resources can be used in various classes to clarify a concept or exemplify a situation. For example, in the securities course, recordings of hearings are used to demonstrate the course of a lawsuit. In the commercial law class, explanatory videos on intellectual property are used to identify tensions between entrepreneurs. Finally, in law & tech, videos are used to clarify technological concepts. | Prepares for legal practice: Watching or making videos/podcast are an essential part of legal education and is often not included in law school curricula. This audio-visual strategies can prepare law students for the realities of legal practice, by giving them a foundation in legal communication skills. |
| Genially maps | I use in most of my classes genially maps or digital resources to support the reading and give structure to various concepts that seem new but have a direct connection to other areas of law. They also help to generate feedback on the sessions in a creative way, encouraging clear language. (Securities) Designing securities formats according to the audience.
(Commercial Law) Elaborate different legal concepts, mind maps and infographics for different clients regarding trademarks, patents, registrations, among others.
(law & Tech) Design part of a regulatory or technological impact analysis. | It allows educators to create interactive and engaging presentations and visual aids to help students learn and understand legal concepts.

Educational Tools
Within the teaching practice I have adapted some resources and materials for students of different levels. Some of them have been developed individually and others with the support of Conécta-TE. These resources can be used as pre-session material prior to the synchronous session or as session feedback. The resources have been developed mainly in the Genially tool. However, several of them are important inputs for the development of certain activities such as PBL's or class discussions. Throughout my teaching practice I have worked with several platforms such as:
